In Italy we can’t find sweet potatoes very easily, so we usually make the common potato gnocchi. I remember my mum making them on the Sunday morning: the kitchen table was transformed in a field of gnocchi and everyone used to dress them in a different way. My cousin used to dress them with sugar and cinnamon!
For this special dish I chose to make gnocchi with sweet potato: an ingredient that as soon as I arrived in the UK, immediately became one of my faves. The flavour of the sweet potatoes combines perfectly with sage and walnuts. The creamyness of the sauce make the melt in your mouth.
UUuuuuhhh my word… my mouth is watering as I’m writing it!!
